KG Semester Review | Our “Little Lions” Lit Up Every Moment of Growth

As the holidays near,  journey of the first semester is about to conclude on a warm note. Over these past months, we have witnessed countless shining moments of growth alongside every HHKCS little lion. Now, let us look back on this journey filled with surprises and achievements together.

We began our exploration of the “power of learning.” By guiding emotional expression, sparking curiosity, nurturing inner drive, and encouraging creativity while supporting cognitive development, we have witnessed a transformation in the children—from “following” to “exploring.” They have started learning to identify emotions, bravely ask “why,” and build blocks or tell stories in their own unique ways.

These quietly sprouting competencies are becoming the sturdy wings with which they independently explore the world.

This month, we advanced both home-school collaboration and stratified teaching simultaneously. At home, we consistently encouraged you to naturally nurture your child’s expressive abilities through play, conversation, and reading—using any language.

Meanwhile, we officially launched a new Cantonese teaching syllabus. Through gamified assessments, we identified the optimal starting point for each child and implemented dynamic grouping, with progress reassessed every two months. This ensures every “little lion” grows with confidence under the most appropriate support.

In the early winter, the children took firm strides in the “Long Ducker” event. Regardless of the distance, every effort to persevere to the end deserved applause. Through this energetic activity, our little lions not only exercised their bodies but also truly grasped the essence of perseverance and courage in practice—advancing toward a goal is, in itself, a victory.

As the year drew to a close, the campus was filled with the aroma of love thanks to a heartwarming charity baking project. United in their goal to support “Save the Children,” all the little lions in the school contributed their efforts. From the pure enthusiasm of our K1 students, to the globally-inspired creative decorations of K2, and the planning skills demonstrated by K3—pricing, packaging, and promotion—every step was a testament to the children’s intelligence and dedication.

When all the proceeds from the bake sale were donated, the children experienced a profound truth firsthand: even small hands can come together to create the power to change the world.

Through this series of dynamic practices, Harrow’s core values have been integrated into daily life:

Courage lies in taking initiative and persevering.

Honour lies in taking genuine pride in collective achievements.

Fellowship lies in sharing and proactively helping others.

Humility lies in respecting and appreciating others.

We are heartened to see the children learning teamwork through collaboration, developing empathy through cultural experiences, and honing their problem-solving skills in creative activities.

They have not only applied foundational abilities but have also gained character strengths that will last a lifetime.
